Marble Snags First-Team All-Region Honors Again
DAHLONEGA, GA – North Georgia’s
Syretha Marble has been named to her second straight 2009
Daktronics All-Southeast Region Women's Basketball First-Team
announced last week by the regional office.
Syretha Marble, a 2008 All-American and 2009 First-Team
All-conference selection, has now been named First Team
All-Southeast Region after averaging 18.4 points per game and 8.7
rebounds per contest.
The senior scored in double digits in all but one game, and
recorded a season-high 32 points against Mars Hill on November 24,
and a season-high 20 rebounds at Georgia College & State
University on February 4.
Marble ranks 5th in the history of the PBC with 1,881 points, and
6th in rebounds with 926. Marble recorded nine double-doubles
during the season and has now scored 1,881 career points and pulled
down 926 rebounds. She averaged 37.6 minutes per game, 2.7 steals
per games, and shot 52.8 percent from the field.
The Daktronics NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region Teams are
voted on by the sports information directors of the Southeast
Region. The region is comprised of the Conference Carolinas, the
Peach Belt Conference, the South Atlantic Conference, Chowan
University and North Greenville University.
