2009 Men's Soccer Media Guide Released to Public
HICKORY, NC
– The North Georgia College & State University
men’s soccer team will look to get back on track this evening
in Hickory, North Carolina, taking on the Bears of Lenoir-Rhyne
University in non-conference action.
With the Saints on the verge of playing their 5th game of the
season, the North Georgia sports information staff has released the
2009 men’s soccer media guide to the public, a full color
interactive guide, giving media members and fans a closer look at
head coach Pat Parris and his 32-man squad.
The contest this evening between North Georgia and Lenoir-Rhyne
will be the first-ever match-up between the two schools, as the
Saints will look to pick up a road victory and move a game over the
.500 mark. The Bears will need a victory against the Saints to get
back to the .500 mark, currently sitting at 1-2 overall after
losses to Limestone and King College to open the year, while their
only victory came against Barton College.
Tonight’s game at Lenoir-Rhyne will be the home opener for
the Bears, the first of a two-game home stand to start the season.
The home stand for LR will be an All-Peach Belt slate with UNC
Pembroke traveling to Hickory Saturday evening.
The North Georgia offense has been the definition of a balanced
attack so far in 2009, scoring five goals by five different
players, while four assists have been tallied by four different
players. Justin Gonzales is the only player to record a goal and
assist during the 2009 campaign, earning him North Georgia Athlete
of the Week honors.
Kickoff with Lenoir-Rhyne University is set for Wednesday evening
at 5:00 p.m. in Hickory, North Carolina.
