DAHLONEGA, GA – The North Georgia College
& State University men’s golf team is set to begin play
in their first-ever tournament tomorrow morning, traveling to the
Kiawah Island Invitational hosted by the University of South
Carolina at Aiken.
The Saints will enter the tournament as their first-ever event
since North Georgia announced the addition of the program in
January of 2009. “I am proud and excited to have been asked
to coach for North Georgia,” said Fowler. “I am looking
forward to coaching a world class team that will proudly serve as
ambassadors for the University, Dahlonega, and the game of
golf.”
The sixth annual, two-day Kiawah Island Invitational will be
contested at the 6,875 yard, par 72 Cougar Point Golf Course.
Designed by Gary Player, the course was rated at "4.5 stars" by
Golf Digest.
The tournament will be a two-round, 36-hole event (18 each day).
Action is slated to get underway at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 7.
