North Georgia Defeated Late by Pirates in PBC play
DAHLONEGA, GA – North Georgia found
themselves with an early lead Monday night, but Armstrong Atlantic
used their powerful offense to come back and pick up the 74-67
victory over the Saints in Peach Belt Conference action.
North Georgia falls to 6-3 overall and 0-3 in the PBC, while
Armstrong continues to stay hot as they improve to 9-1 overall and
2-1 in the conference.
The Pirates won the game on the boards, outrebounding North
Georgia 50-30, including 20 offensive rebounds and 15 second-chance
points, which ultimately doomed the Saints down the stretch.
Both teams were shaky from the free throw line as North Georgia
was just 55 percent (10-18) from the stripe, while Armstrong
Atlantic shot 65 percent (17-26) from the foul line.
The Saints were led by Andre Morgan who collected 20 points and
seven steals, while LaBrian Lyons added 14 points and Michael
Moynihan chipped in 11.
The Pirates had a trio of players in double figures as Keron
McKenzie led the way with 15 points on 4-10 shooting.
North Georgia will look to pick up their first PBC win of the
season on Wednesday evening as they play host to GCSU at 7:30 p.m.
