Kim Fleming is in her third season as the cheerleading coach at North Georgia College & State University.
During her first two seasons at the cheerleading helm, the squad took home third and second place respectively at the Peach Belt Conference cheerleading championships.
A native of Lilburn, she attended Georgia College and State University where she earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She was a college cheerleader at Georgia College and State University. Coach Fleming earned her specialist degree from Piedmont College. She is entering her 20th year of teaching and is currently employed by the Dawson County School System where she has served as head cheerleading coach for the past twelve years. Before coming to Dawson County, she taught and coached in Jasper County. She is married to Jeff Fleming and they have one son Cody, 16.
Since GHSA declared cheerleading a sport in 1994, Coach Fleming has had a team represented in the state finals each year. Coach Fleming has been named region coach of the year ten of the last fourteen years. Some of her Honors and Recognitions include: 2007 NCSSE – National Council Spirit Safety Education Producer of the Year, 2007 NCSSE - England, Scotland, Northern Ireland Safety Certification Certifier, 2006 Choreographer of the Nokia Sugar Bowl Half-time Show, 2006 Score Promotions Team of the Year, 2004 Georgia Team of the Year, 2000 Cheer Limited National Team of the Year and 1997 Georgia Coach of the Year.
Fleming is the State Director for the National
Council for Spirit Safety and Education (NCSSE). She currently
holds a Master Level Certification, which includes certification in
Cheer and Level and Dance Coaching Principles and Ethics, Program
Management and Cheer Fundamentals, Coaching Stunts and Tumbling I,
and Coaching Stunts and Tumbling II. She also holds a certification
in AACCA and is a Certified Judge for Competition Cheerleading and
Dance at the State and National Level. She is a presenter at state
and national cheerleading conferences.
