Tanaskovic Named Moe's Athlete of the Week
DAHLONEGA, GA - Rade Tanaskovic has been named the
Moe’s Southwest Grill North Georgia Athlete of the Week after
leading the Saints in the final two regular season games of the
season announced this afternoon by the Sports Information
Office.
The sophomore from Barzilovica, Serbia, allowed a goal in each of
North Georgia’s final two games, starting the week against
the #1 in the nation at Lees-McRae College. In a 1-0 loss against
the bobcats, Tanaskovic tallied a nine saves, stopping six
first-half shots, before picking up three more saves in the second
period.
In the Saints’ regular season finale against UNC Pembroke, he
came up big again, recording a season-high 10 saves as North
Georgia battled the Braves to a 1-1 deadlock after 110 minutes of
action.
Tanaskovic has 61 saves on the season, picking 19 of those last
week, while he has logged 1145 minutes of action on the season and
has a goals against average of 1.26. He is currently fifth in the
Peach Belt Conference in goals against average, second in save
percentage, and third in saves.
