Juan Hurtado, Men's Soccer
Juan Hurtado has been named the Moe's Southwest
Grill North Georgia Athlete of the Week after leading the Saints to
a victory over Harding University over the weekend. Hurtado has
played in all seven games for head coach Pat Parris this season,
making six starts as a true freshman and logging 542 minutes of
action, the second highest on the team. The native of Cali,
Colombia, fired two shots on goal and recorded an assist Friday
afternoon as North Georgia put a lid on a three-game losing streak,
blanking Harding University 3-0 on the campus of Columbus State
University. The 3-0 victory was the first shutout of the
season for the Saints as the defense came up big, allowing just six
shots and not a single shot on goal. North Georgia will look to
pick up their first Peach Belt Conference victory of the season on
Saturday, hosting Lander University as the two league teams battle
for the sixth time in school history.
